Poroshenko gave a motivational speech at the Youth Vision 2026 youth forum: we must preserve the state and stop populism

Petro Poroshenko delivered a motivational speech to the participants of the Youth Vision 2026 Forum, which took place on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Solidary Youth NGO. The Fifth President welcomed the guests of honor — MEP and YEPP Chairwoman Sofia Kircher, IYDU Chairwoman Eva Dogalova, and EDS Chairwoman Francesco Sismondi.

This was reported by the press service of “European Solidarity”.

Hundreds of participants from different regions of Ukraine shared their vision of the future of Ukraine during the Forum.

“This field for unity, for discussions and networking was created by our “Solidarity Youth” led by Dinara Gabibullaeva. And we were sincerely amazed when very quickly, out of the planned 200 participants, the number of applications exceeded 500. These are very young people, whose average age is from 22 to 25 years old,” Poroshenko noted.

During his speech, Petro Poroshenko emphasized that populism is a huge threat to the future of the country.

“Populism is when there are no complex solutions, but only simple ones. Where can you hear simple solutions? In the “United Marathon”, in Telegram channels. This is very dangerous. Because in reality, we will have to work very hard with you,” Poroshenko says.

He believes that it is the youth who should stand in the way of populism, as was the case during the “cardboard Maidan.”

“Our first task is to win the war. And I am proud that today 2,615 party members are defending the Ukrainian land, defending the state in the ranks of the Armed Forces, the National Guard and other units. Honor and glory to them,” Poroshenko said.

“What tasks are facing our team today, as well as the state? To save the people and win. The second is to save the state and win. And the third thing, which is an absolutely necessary component of this plan, is to bring Ukraine into the European Union. One does not work without the other. And that is why our special forces in parliament, our “Solidarity Youth”, our team are doing everything not to stop this movement,” Poroshenko emphasized.

“We have already done a lot. And visa-free travel, just like the Association Agreement, is an absolutely necessary component of our integration. But the next step, what should we do? Obtain membership. Bucha, Mariupol, Irpen, Gostomel, Vorzel paid a huge price for this. And we will not allow anyone to stop this movement, to stop the implementation of reforms. We must work to get a result. Because the European Union accepts countries that meet the criteria,” the party leader reminded.

“The first criteria are the rule of law, the independence of the courts, democracy, freedom of speech. There is no democracy when there are illegal, unconstitutional sanctions in the country. There is no democracy when the court is called from the Office of the President. There is no democracy when the opposition is banned from parliamentary diplomacy,” the party leader noted.

Petro and Maryna Poroshenko also presented a grant program for civil society projects.

“Our family has been funding programs for youth and the military for several years. Now we also support the best ideas, people, and teams that are already changing Ukraine today and will become the driving force of post-war reconstruction. This is our family’s contribution to the future of our state,” said the fifth President.

“Ukraine will win, glory to the Armed Forces, glory to the “Solidarity Youth” and no – to populism!”, said Petro Poroshenko.
