Poroshenko handed over five new excavators to the military for the construction of fortifications and container repair facilities.

The fifth president and leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, handed over five new excavators to Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades for the construction of fortifications.

In total, since the beginning of the invasion, the fifth President sent 94 diggers to the front.

“You’ll be surprised, but this is more than the entire Ukrainian Armed Forces received from the state. And that’s not normal. It shouldn’t be like this. Anyone who wants to know how important an excavator is on the front lines today should grab a sapper shovel and try to dig something up in -15°C. The old equipment is gone. Used machines often run for a few hours and then stop.

“That’s why we bought only new, Ukrainian-made machines, specifically designed for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These excavators aren’t digging up cottage communities along bypass roads. They’re working on the front lines—in artillery brigades, support forces, mechanized and airborne units,” Poroshenko wrote on social media.

He reported that this time the new construction equipment will strengthen the 71st separate ranger brigade, the 4th separate heavy mechanized brigade, the 49th separate mine clearing brigade, the 159th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Center for Operational Combat Support of the Naval Forces.

A separate area of work for the Poroshenko Foundation is providing equipment repairs directly in the combat zone.

“Previously, over a hundred automotive repair shops were transferred. When these capacities were exhausted, we began developing container repair shops—better equipped, more efficient, and more autonomous. Five container repair shops were transferred today. In total, there are now twenty-eight such complexes. This is the equipment that every logistics chief, every repair company, and every battalion on the front dreams of,” Poroshenko said.

The 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade, the Separate Center of Special Operations Forces, the 148th Separate Artillery Brigade of the Airborne Assault Forces, the 1st Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, and the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received container workshops.

The value of this batch of equipment exceeds 29 million hryvnias. “All this aid was raised using funds from the Poroshenko Foundation. Equipment at the front is needed not after the holidays, nor later. It is needed today. Therefore, this work has continued, continues, and will continue without interruption,” the fifth President noted.
