Poroshenko in Sumy Oblast: Strengthening the Ukrainian Armed Forces is Priority Number One
During a trip to Sumy Oblast, Petro Poroshenko handed over a batch of aid to 10 brigades and units of the Defense Forces that are fighting in this area.
In particular, the fifth president also honored the memory of Sumy residents who died in the war in the regional center. There are already 648 names on the Alley of Memory in Sumy.
“There is more and more work for the units that are holding the defense in Sumy Oblast. We know very well how difficult it is for them. And all these long months they have been coming with new equipment, and returning with new requests,” the fifth president said on social networks.
“We were met by soldiers from the legendary brigades – the 95th, 71st Jaeger, 78th regiment, 421st unmanned systems battalion. For their effective operation, we need fiber optics, drones and ATVs. We brought all of this. And also a brand new excavator, a complex for armored vehicles and drone detectors “Aspirin 2.0″. The queue for them is huge, but the Sumy paratroopers were among the first to receive these devices,” Poroshenko explained.
“We haven’t forgotten about the territorial defense brigades either – the 101st, 104th and 106th. Our friends serve here: the commander of the Serafima UAV unit, Sergei Kostinsky, and the deputy of the Zakarpattia Regional Council, Denis Man. We found the scarce day and night “Moviks” for them.
In total, 10 units received 475 FPV drones, including fiber optic ones; day and night “Moviks”; an excavator; a mobile charging station; a mobile tire service with a RunFlat module based on two containers; mobile auto repair shops; 9 evacuation and assault ATVs; “Shattro” electronic warfare systems; “Aspirin 2.0” drone detectors; charging stations and Starlink systems.
The medical staff of the military mobile hospital closed the request for a mobile workshop to service the medics, and medicines and equipment were delivered.
Poroshenko is confident that Putin’s plans to create a “gray zone” or seize part of the Sumy region will be destroyed.
“Each of us must do everything that depends on him for the army. Because the best diplomat of Ukraine is the strong Armed Forces. It is they who, with their victories on the battlefield, ensure the success of any negotiations. Our duty is to do everything so that the Armed Forces of Ukraine become stronger,” says Poroshenko.
