During his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, Petro Poroshenko called on people’s deputies to make changes to the State Budget, remove corruption schemes from it, and direct funds to defense, amid a large-scale energy crisis.
Poroshenko emphasized: corruption weakens the state’s defense against enemy missiles and suicide bombers.
“Today, the parliament must make a decision on the future of our state. The parliament has a chance to regain its subjectivity. The parliament has a chance to take a significant step – the formation of a government of national unity, de-Yermakization and de-Indianization of the country. This sounds especially important against the background of the state of affairs in Kyiv and in the country,” the fifth President noted.
“I want to emphasize that Ukraine’s skies are open not only because of Russia’s improvement of attack means, but also because of corruption, which is confirmed by the “Mindich tapes” not only in the energy sector, not only in the defense sector, when the country was left without weapons, without air defense – but also in the Verkhovna Rada, where there is further evidence of envelopes that are brought to people’s deputies. Five deputies have been charged with corruption, with receiving bribes,” Poroshenko reminded.
“Today, more than ever, it is important to adopt changes to the budget that stop the financial flows that the people of Yermakov profited from. This is the transfer of financial resources to the Armed Forces – from a single marathon, from communication strategies, from bribes to society during the preparation for the elections. Parliament must once again declare that elections are possible only after the war is stopped. Otherwise, no one will recognize the results of these pseudo-elections,” Poroshenko said.
“But first of all, we should all now concentrate on the army, on the language, on faith, on the EU and NATO. This is what should unite the parliament and the country,” Petro Poroshenko is convinced.
