Poroshenko in Vinnytsia region: a strong Ukraine is a strong army and strong communities

Petro Poroshenko met with residents of the local community in Horodkivka, Vinnytsia Oblast. This is where his father Oleksiy Poroshenko worked for many years, and a street was opened in his honor in the community center. Poroshenko’s family honored the memory of the residents of Horodkivka who died at the front on Heroes’ Alley.

This was reported by the press service of “European Solidarity” .

“My father had special, warm emotions for this land. He developed agriculture here, cared for the residents, dreamed that they would live better and better. My father was a man of work who taught me to keep my word, respect people, and love Ukraine. This modern European street with high-quality asphalt, stops, pedestrian crossings, and lighting is my promise that I made to my father before his death. He dreamed that these villages would flourish. That people here would not only work, but also have comfort. He dreamed that one day there would be a water supply with spring water here. I kept my promise, father…”, Poroshenko wrote.

He thanked the residents of Horodkivka for the initiative to name the rebuilt street in honor of the Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Ivanovich Poroshenko.

“It was my principled decision to direct the taxes I paid to the communities. To the construction of a road in Kryzhopil, and now in Horodkivka. To the hospital and rehabilitation of the military, like in Nemyriv. The budget of the Horodkivka community alone received almost 128 million in taxes, which residents can use at their own discretion,” Poroshenko said.

Additional funds for the construction of the road were also allocated from the Poroshenko Foundation, in total, more than 83 million UAH were allocated for this project. Over four years, Poroshenko paid half a billion UAH to the budget of the Vinnytsia region – but they are not allowed to use them properly due to illegal sanctions.

Poroshenko also spoke with local deputies, public activists, and war veterans to whom the “Race of the Unconquered” was dedicated.

“Today in Horodkivka there was a special moment – a meeting with our soldiers, veterans after injuries. It is a great honor for me to shake hands with each of them. People who went through the hell of war and remained strong. And next to them is a new generation of Ukrainians who will never forget what the true price of freedom is. The price of our state. The price of the right to live on their own land,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko said in an interview with Politico that corruption weakens Ukraine, and its exposure by anti-corruption agencies, on the contrary, makes our state stronger.

The day before, on the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism, Petro Poroshenko said in a video address that racism is a modern version of a misanthropic ideology that continues to kill and destroy.
