Poroshenko Meets with Polish Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski: Let’s Join Efforts to Prevent This War from Becoming Eternal

Petro Poroshenko met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski, who is in Kyiv on a visit.

“It is a great honor for me to meet again with my old friend Radek Sikorski, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland. This time in Kiev. But wherever we meet, we always talk about the most pressing issues and look for the most effective and efficient solutions in the interests of both our nations,” Poroshenko noted.

“We discussed the situation at the front and the key needs of Ukrainian soldiers. Today, they are not only the best negotiators, but also the true defenders of security for both Ukraine and the entire united Europe. It is important to stop losing people, territory and time. But if Putin refuses a ceasefire, we must have a Plan B: ammunition,” the fifth president writes.

“We focused separately on the sanctions pressure on Moscow. It should continue to increase, so we must do everything to deprive Putin of resources for war,” Poroshenko notes.

“At the same time, it is important to strengthen Ukraine’s potential and resilience, primarily through joint defense projects with the EU and individual member states, in particular with Poland. Ukraine already has effective and proven modern solutions for the battlefield, which should be scaled up in joint cooperation. We discussed our own developments in detail,” the Eurovision leader said.

“Now Poland has also become a target for Russian drones. This once again proves that Russia’s aggression poses a threat not only to Ukraine, but to the whole of Europe. That is why we will continue to strengthen our positions. And we will do this not for the sake of eternal war, but so that this war does not become eternal,” Poroshenko wrote.

He also thanked Sikorski for his long-term support and consistent protection of the common interests of Ukraine and Poland.
