Poroshenko on Remembrance Day: The best respect for the fallen is a strong Ukraine, for which they fought.
On Remembrance Day for the Defenders of Ukraine who died fighting for the country’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, Petro Poroshenko noted that the best honor for their heroism will be building a strong Ukraine.
“Behind every Ukrainian city that stood firm. Behind every flag waving over liberated territories. Behind every day is the life and heroism of people who went to the front and never returned. They believed that every city and village could be rebuilt and the Ukrainian flag could be returned there,” Poroshenko wrote on social media.

“Today, we bow our heads to the defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine. Among them are my friends, brothers, and members of our team: Gleb Babich. Oleh Barna. Oleksandr Logvin. Dmytro Lysenko. Sergey Ikonnikov. Andriy Parubiy. Each of them had their own story, their own family, dreams, and plans. But they were all united by one thing: at the decisive moment, they stood up to defend Ukraine. And they paid a high price for it,” the fifth President recalled.

“I remember them not only as warriors. I remember them as living beings – with their character, humor, principles, and convictions. It’s hard to find a person who hasn’t lost someone in this cursed war… That’s why today isn’t just about grief. It’s about responsibility to the fallen. And while the war rages, we must do everything possible to ensure that Ukrainian soldiers have everything they need for victory: weapons, equipment, drones, communications, protection, and support. The best tribute to the fallen is a strong Ukraine, which they defended. Eternal memory to all the defenders of Ukraine, men and women, who gave their lives for our country!” writes Petro Poroshenko.
