Poroshenko on the government’s resignation: no accountability, no responsibility
Petro Poroshenko, during a discussion from the parliamentary rostrum on the resignation of Prime Minister Shmyhal, stated that the authorities are raising the legitimacy of the next Cabinet of Ministers, because the law “On the legal regime of martial law” prohibits terminating the powers of the government .
He also criticized ministers for failing to adequately prepare the country for war and called on them to report on their performance.
“This is a delegitimization of the Ukrainian authorities, because Article 10 clearly stipulates that it is prohibited to terminate the powers of all state authorities, primarily the Cabinet of Ministers. You at least tried to make changes, to explain what it means to “terminate powers”, so that the next government is not called into question. The fifth President.
“The second position: where is the coalition? Is it a mono-majority? There are no 226. Who is nominating you? The Ukrainian people? No. A mono-majority? No. This is another reason when you question the Ukrainian government. It does not matter who it belongs to – the authorities or represents the opposition, the legitimacy of the government must be impeccable,” he is convinced.
“No government in the history of Ukraine has worked out such a term as the government that is now sitting in this hall. I call on you to report: about the coup fund, when you collected all the money from the entire country and for some reason directed it to the “Great Theft” with a powerful corruption motivation. Including bringing envelopes into this hall.”
“The main complaint is that this government did not prepare the country for war. And this responsibility cannot be placed solely on the president or his office. The second position is that in three and a half years this government has not put the economy on a war footing. Because this means that not a penny is spent on the marathon, on cash-back, we will provide for the Armed Forces. You are now depriving the Verkhovna Rada of hearing the report of the Accounts Chamber. It is fair to give each minister the opportunity to speak.
Let us recall that on July 16, the Verkhovna Rada supported the resignation of Denys Shmyhal from the post of Prime Minister . The entire Cabinet of Ministers automatically resigns.
