Poroshenko: the authorities are trying to hide the falsification of sanctions documents

The fifth President of Ukraine and leader of “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko, during a Supreme Court hearing where he is appealing the illegal decision to impose sanctions, stated that the authorities are trying to hide the falsification of materials on the imposition of illegal sanctions, therefore they do not want an open trial.

This was reported by the press service of Eurosolidarity .

“You are discrediting the government and discrediting the president. Not Zelenskyy or Shmyhal, but the institution. Does this surprise me? No,” the fifth President of Ukraine commented on the request of representatives of the president and the government to hold the court hearing in closed session.

Poroshenko emphasized that in this way the authorities are trying to hide their own crimes.

“I urge everyone not to be a participant in covering up the crime. Because falsifying the materials that initiated sanctions against me is a criminal offense for which you will have to answer. Voting is illegal without materials. And now this evidence will be presented – both society, the country, and the world have the right to know exactly what and how you made these falsifications,” he noted.

The leader of Eurosolidarity noted that with such actions, the authorities are only deepening the hole and their own problems, trying to rework and falsify signatures, dates, numbers, and registers.

“We have prepared to present your crimes to the high court and society. And you have no other choice but to hide behind a closed door and deprive me of the right to defend myself in an open, transparent court,” Poroshenko said.

He added that he predicted that perhaps the authorities, having bargained for a month to prepare evidence, would finally come today and shock society.

“And they shocked. The only thing you came with is that you have nothing to say. First, there is no evidence. Second, society has nothing to say. Your decision must meet two main criteria: legality and justice. Your decision must inspire trust in society. Society must say: yes, we were participants, we listened, and what you did inspires trust in us. And when you hide from the people. Why are you afraid of the people? Why are you hiding from them? Because you have nothing to say. You or those you represent do not want to bear responsibility,” Poroshenko said.

According to him, it is now necessary not to follow this shameful path, hiding from society the lies, falsifications, and crimes that the authorities have committed.

“Otherwise, we become accomplices in the crime. Sit down – here is paper and a pen. Write a statement of confession. Write a statement of dismissal and save yourself. Because you have no other choice. I can give you a pen,” Poroshenko addressed the authorities.

Recall that during the Supreme Court hearing in the Petro Poroshenko case, the judge asked why representatives of the president and the government did not provide the documents on the basis of which sanctions were imposed against the fifth president. Representatives of the authorities were unable to provide an answer, shifting responsibility to other bodies, which caused the judge’s indignation.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko, before the start of the Supreme Court session, stated that President Volodymyr Zelensky’s decree on the introduction of sanctions should be canceled , because the president’s representatives have not been able to provide any documents on the grounds for such sanctions for five months.

Later, during the meeting itself, Petro Poroshenko noted that closing the court hearing on the illegality of sanctions from the public would mean turning Ukraine into Russia.
