Poroshenko told how to strengthen the air defense of Ukrainian cities

Petro Poroshenko has handed over another batch of Ai-Petri anti-technical intelligence systems to Ukrainian defenders. According to him, these systems help destroy Russian reconnaissance drones that operate before ballistic missile strikes.

Poroshenko noted that during the last massive attack, Russia fired 68 missiles at Kyiv, a significant part of which were ballistic.

“They cynically targeted residential buildings and civilian infrastructure to kill as many peaceful Ukrainians as possible and cause the greatest destruction,” he stressed.

According to the fifth president, within one hour, Russian forces fired four ballistic missiles at the former office of the Roshen factory.

“All missiles were aimed precisely at the center of the building, which is now completely destroyed. The main thing is that there were no people on site and no one was injured,” Poroshenko said.

He recalled that since 2014, he has considered the development of air defense to be one of the main priorities.

“Before the arrival of ballistics, reconnaissance drones usually operate. They make corrections, clarify the coordinates of the object and the specific time of the strike. But we can destroy them – for this we have created complexes to counter Russian technical intelligence “Ai-Petri”, – he noted.

Poroshenko reported that a new batch of complexes was transferred to the military, who perform air defense tasks and already have experience using this equipment.

“They are well acquainted with our Ai-Petri complexes, effectively use them at the front, and also cover Kyiv. A significant part of the “shaheeds” are grounded precisely with the help of our complexes,” he said.

According to Poroshenko, cooperation with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Territorial Defense Forces, and the National Guard continues.

“The work of professional crews together with our complexes makes the skies of Kyiv and the skies of Ukraine at least a little safer every day,” the fifth president concluded.
