Since the fall of 2023, Petro Poroshenko has invested over 200 million hryvnias in the development and production of unique Ai-Petri SV countermeasure systems, which have successfully passed trials and are already in use in the Armed Forces, covering a thousand kilometers of combat contact. For a long time, the state did not allocate funding for this program. In March 2025, Poroshenko announced a contract with the Ministry of Defense .
Positive impressions: experts evaluate the Ai-Petri electronic warfare system
Ukrainian specialists completed a preliminary familiarization with the Ai-Petri electronic warfare system and reported positive impressions of the system’s capabilities.
This was reported by radio electronics and communications systems expert Sergei Beskrestnov “Flash” on Facebook .
“The impressions are positive. Broadband antennas, wide-range jamming modules. Sufficient output power. Remote control capability,” he said.
“I didn’t test it at the range; I didn’t have time, but I can fully understand the possibilities. It would also work as an FPV countermeasure for a few hundred meters,” the tester added.
The main purpose of the system, according to the specialist, is to hinder the occupier’s reconnaissance activities and protect critical infrastructure from attack drones like the Shahed.
“It’s depressing their navigation systems in the near zone; I still don’t believe in countering the KABs,” he wrote.
Along with the technical assessment, the specialists sent a specific request to the developers: “I request the developers to add a Shahed jamming preset with online control.” The request’s explanation calls for a “real-time activation/deactivation mode, with priority operation on the GNSS/C2 channel,” which, in their opinion, “will significantly improve the effectiveness of critical infrastructure protection in the near field.”
