Possible evacuation and assistance in winter: Kyiv residents with limited mobility urged to check their data

Kyiv is updating information about residents with limited mobility who may need assistance in the winter in the event of prolonged power outages, such as single elderly people, people with disabilities, and families raising children with disabilities.

This was reported by Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Marina Honda.

The Kyiv City State Administration explained that when preparing for winter, it is important to know a person’s actual place of residence, not just their official registration address.

According to Honda, last winter it became clear that some people with limited mobility actually live at different addresses. In the event of an emergency, this could make it difficult to organize assistance or temporary relocation.

“Right now we want to check and update this information so that, if necessary, city services understand where the person is actually located and what kind of help they need,” Honda noted.

Those who belong to the above categories but are not receiving social services or are not sure that the city has up-to-date information about their actual place of residence should contact the agency for clarification.

If a person is already under social support from a territorial social service center or district department of social and veteran policy, there is no need to apply again.
