On the night of Tuesday, July 7, Russia was subjected to a large-scale attack by drones and missiles. In Belgorod, explosions followed a fire at an energy infrastructure facility, and Moscow announced an attack by several hundred drones.

This was reported by Russian officials and local Telegram channels.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that from the evening until six in the morning, more than 430 drones allegedly flew in the direction of the Moscow region.

“Most of them were neutralized by air defense forces on the distant approaches. 36 enemy UAVs were destroyed during the approach to Moscow,” Sobyanin said.

Meanwhile, residents of Belgorod and the region reported numerous explosions. Acting regional governor Alexander Shuvayev announced a massive rocket attack and damage to energy infrastructure.

“A fire broke out at one of the facilities in Belgorod, firefighters are extinguishing it. The energy infrastructure has been damaged again, so there are interruptions in electricity and water supply in certain areas of Belgorod and several municipalities,” Shuvayev reported.

According to a Russian official, one person was killed and three others were injured in the attack.

Social media reports that one of the affected facilities was the Belgorod Linear Production Department of Main Gas Pipelines, a branch of Gazprom Transgaz Moscow, which provides transportation of natural gas through the territory of the Belgorod region.

There is currently no official confirmation of this information from the Russian authorities.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Defense Forces, carried out a series of strikes on fuel, energy and military infrastructure facilities of the Russian Federation and temporarily occupied Crimea. The Yaroslavl Oil Refinery, the Vysotsk oil terminal, and a number of military facilities on the peninsula were hit.
