In Ukraine, due to the consequences of Russian attacks, power outages persist in three regions, and nuclear generation is not yet operating at full capacity.
This is reported by the Ministry of Energy.
“As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy infrastructure, consumers in the Odessa, Zaporizhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions are currently without electricity. The elimination of the consequences and restoration of electricity supply are ongoing,” said First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov during a briefing.
According to him, in the Odessa region, critical infrastructure facilities have been switched to backup power from generators. Power engineers are continuing work on the damaged facilities and are trying to get the equipment back into operation as soon as possible.
He also emphasized that the country is still dealing with the consequences of two massive enemy attacks on the power system that occurred over the past week.
“Restoration is ongoing at both power plants and high-voltage substations that provide power output to nuclear power plants,” the First Deputy Minister noted.
Nekrasov recalled that hourly power outage schedules, as well as capacity restrictions for industry and business, are currently in effect throughout Ukraine.
“Currently, nuclear generation remains partially unloaded. Due to the difficult situation in some regions, emergency power outages are being forced,” he said.
According to him, consumers will be able to return to the predicted hourly schedules immediately after the situation in the power system stabilizes.
Separately, Nekrasov noted that the situation in frontline and border regions remains the most difficult.
“Some consumers there remain without power for a long time, as the restoration of power supply is complicated by constant hostilities,” he added.
As previously reported, the Ministry of Energy held a regular meeting of the Headquarters for the Elimination of Consequences of Emergency Situations in Kyiv and the region. The situation remains most difficult in the area powered by CHP-4.
Recall, on February 3, Russia dealt the most powerful blow to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since the beginning of 2026. Electricity generation and distribution facilities came under attack.
