In Kyiv, power companies have restored power supply to critical infrastructure facilities after emergency outages. Now, a gradual return of power to household consumers has begun.

This was reported by the DTEK press service .

The company’s official statement states that the capital’s critical infrastructure was restored first, after which the restoration of power supply to the population began.

“Energy workers have restored electricity to the critical infrastructure of Kyiv. Now we are returning light to the people,” DTEK reported.

The company explained that the restoration is taking place in stages to avoid overloading the networks and preventing new accidents. Energy experts also called on consumers to use electricity economically.

“Restoration is taking place in stages. This approach is necessary to avoid network overload and to prevent new accidents,” DTEK noted.

As of 2:00 p.m., according to First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, power supply to critical infrastructure has been restored in a number of regions.

The list includes:

  • Zhytomyr region;
  • Odesa region.

He also reported that Ukraine’s power system is operating as a whole, and Ukrenergo dispatchers are monitoring the situation. At the same time, a significant power shortage persists, which is why emergency outage schedules continue to operate in certain regions.

“Energy engineers are working 24/7 to return heat and light to people,” Shmyhal added.

It should be noted that on January 31, a system failure occurred in the Ukrainian power system, which left a significant part of Ukraine without power .

Later, the Ministry of Energy commented on the situation and predicted that power would return to Ukrainian homes in two to three hours .
