Several coronal mass ejections were recorded on the Sun over the weekend, which could affect the Earth’s magnetic field in the coming days. According to scientists, there is a possibility of G1-level magnetic storms on July 14 and 16, and today, Tuesday, July 14, increased geomagnetic activity is expected with a K-index of 4.3, which corresponds to the yellow level.

This was reported by the British Geological Survey and the Meteoagent portal.

According to scientists, all of the coronal mass ejections originated in the active region AR 4485, which is currently located on the western edge of the sun’s disk. Most of them are predicted to pass by Earth, but simulations show that some of the plasma could still affect our planet.

If this happens, geomagnetic activity will increase on July 14 and 16, and the magnetic storm could reach the G1 level. Such storms are considered weak, but they can cause a deterioration in well-being in weather-sensitive people.

Experts note that during magnetic storms, some people may experience headaches, fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, irritability, blood pressure fluctuations, or exacerbation of chronic diseases. In addition, geomagnetic disturbances sometimes affect the operation of satellite communications, navigation systems, and radio communications.

How to prepare for a magnetic storm

Doctors advise on days of increased geomagnetic activity:

sleep at least 7–8 hours;
drink enough clean water;
avoid overwork and heavy physical exertion;
limit the consumption of alcohol, energy drinks and large amounts of coffee;
spend more time outdoors;
avoid stress and emotional overexertion if possible;
People with cardiovascular diseases should regularly monitor their blood pressure and not skip taking medications prescribed by their doctor.

Experts emphasize that the impact of magnetic storms on well-being may vary depending on the individual characteristics of the body, so if your condition worsens sharply, you should consult a doctor.
