Powerful explosions at Plastmas military plant in Russia: at least 10 people killed

In the Chelyabinsk region of the Russian Federation, two powerful explosions occurred at the Plastmas plant, which manufactures and disposes of ammunition.

This was reported by The Moscow Times.

Regional Governor Oleksiy Tekler confirmed the incident, saying that ten people died and five others were hospitalized.

“There was an explosion at one of the enterprises in the city of Kopeysk. All emergency services arrived at the scene, the headquarters’ work was deployed. There is no threat to the city’s residents and civilian objects,” he wrote on the social network.

The blast wave was reportedly so strong that it was heard in several areas of Chelyabinsk. At the same time, windows were broken in houses located near the plant.

After the explosion, the plant’s territory was surrounded by police, and emergency services and investigators arrived, including a group from the Ural Training Rescue Center to clear the rubble.

A municipal state of emergency was introduced in the Kopeysk urban district, and October 24 was declared a day of mourning.

The investigation is currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident, with Tekler ruling out the possibility of a drone attack.

It is worth noting that earlier in the Russian city of Sterlitamak in Bashkortostan , a powerful explosion occurred at the Avangard chemical plant, which fulfills defense orders, after which a large-scale fire broke out.
