Powerful explosions heard in Mariupol: a large-scale fire broke out

A series of powerful explosions were heard in temporarily occupied Mariupol on the night of May 28. After that, a large-scale fire broke out in one of the districts of the city.

This was reported by the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andryuschenko.

He said explosions were heard in various parts of the city. After the attack, local residents noticed heavy flames and smoke.

“Powerful explosions were heard throughout Mariupol,” Andryuschenko noted.

According to preliminary information, military facilities of the Russian occupation forces may have been hit. There is currently no official confirmation of this information.

It is also not yet known whether there are any victims and which objects were affected.

This is not the first explosion in temporarily occupied Mariupol in recent times. On the night of May 22, the city and surrounding areas were also attacked by drones. At that time, it was reported that a substation in Nikolske was damaged, which left some settlements in the Mariupol region without electricity.
