President Zelensky and half a trillion

While President Zelensky travels the world, talking about the “astronomical” funding deficit, his 5-6, or however many, managers are stubbornly increasing that astronomical deficit.

According to the Accounting Chamber’s analysis of the annual budget execution report for 2025, accounts receivable under the Ministry of Defense’s budget programs have skyrocketed by UAH 178.7 billion to UAH 472.6 billion. Meanwhile, overdue accounts have increased by UAH 20.8 billion to UAH 75.7 billion.

It’s significant that, thanks to the determined efforts of President Zelenskyy and his managers, accounts receivable from the Ministry of Defense’s budget programs have grown the most. The Ministry of Defense accounts for 82.5 percent of the total.

Is anyone analyzing the reasons for these catastrophic results?

No time for that, too busy with summits in Bukovel and taxation of parcels.

No, the Ministry of Finance took an interest in the issue. And came up with proposals. They didn’t identify the culprits and didn’t hold them accountable.

The Ministry of Finance wants more money to pay legal counsel. It turns out things are so dire there that the statute of limitations is already running out. The Ministry of Finance is threatening, citing a lack of budgetary allocations for procurement.

The use of legal advisors will result in the irrevocable failure to provide these deadlines.

The Defense Ministry’s colossal overdue accounts receivable aren’t the only major achievement of Zelensky and his managers.

I am, at least a little envious, happy for my fellow lawyers, for whom our Ministry of Finance wants to squeeze a decent fee out of the budget.

But someone selected suppliers, someone signed contracts, someone transferred funds that then vanished into thin air. Or rather, ended up in someone else’s accounts.

Someone specifically violated the rights of foreign investors.

And each of these “someones” must be held accountable under the law.
