The State Tax Service of Ukraine will tighten control over sales via social networks and messengers. Tax officials will look for sellers who operate without registration, as well as businesses that sell goods without using a PRO or PRRO.

This was reported by People’s Deputy Olga Vasilevska-Smaglyuk on Telegram.

According to her, the State Tax Service will analyze information from open sources on the Internet. This includes, in particular, TikTok, Instagram, Telegram, Viber, and WhatsApp.

Tax officials will inspect both registered businesses and sellers who are not registered as taxpayers at all.

In the first case, the State Tax Service will look for signs of possible violations in the work of entrepreneurs who are required to use the PPO or PRPO. Based on the information collected, risky payers will be identified for further inspections.

Separately, the tax office will work with people who sell goods or services through social networks and messengers without official registration.

“The State Tax Service should identify them together with the National Police, conduct explanatory work, and in case of violations, fine them and demand that they legalize the business,” Vasilevska-Smaglyuk said.

According to the deputy, increased control is provided for by the decision of the parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy on de-shadowing the economy.

Thus, selling through Instagram, TikTok, or messengers will not mean that the entrepreneur will remain outside the tax authorities’ attention. In case of detection of unregistered activities or violations during settlements, the seller may face fines and the requirement to officially register the business.
