The European Solidarity faction said that Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko disrupted a planned meeting with deputies. The politicians were supposed to discuss the 2026 budget and the situation surrounding corruption scandals in government.
This was reported by the press service of “European Solidarity”.
According to the faction, Svyrydenko officially confirmed her readiness to come to the meeting at 3:30 p.m. The deputies interrupted their working trips, broadcasts, and negotiations to be present in full. However, the prime minister never showed up.
Instead of the Prime Minister, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko, and the head of the budget committee from the Servant of the People party, Roksolana Pidlasa, came to the meeting. The EU says that they expected to talk with the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, who is responsible for the budget, personnel decisions, and response to corruption revelations, but the authorities are “again avoiding dialogue and responsibility.”
The faction emphasizes that in times of war and financial crisis, the country needs transparency and honest communication, not imitation. The “EU” demands that the Prime Minister personally meet with parliamentary forces and explain the government’s position on the budget, “Minditchgate” and further decisions of the Cabinet.
As previously reported, the co-chair of European Solidarity, Iryna Gerashchenko, stated in the Verkhovna Rada that the “servants of the people” have not drawn conclusions from their mistakes.
