Ukrainian film producer Elvira Gavrylova-Paterson, who financed a film about President Volodymyr Zelensky, may be involved in an international cryptocurrency fraud scheme. According to an investigation, millions of dollars passed through her company, and Portuguese authorities have launched a money laundering investigation.

This is reported by “Slidstvo.Info”

Journalists from the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) found that Gavrilova-Paterson’s Portuguese company Elledgy Media Group has been promoting the platforms of Vladimir Okhotnikov, known as Lado, since 2024, who is the alleged organizer of a series of fraudulent cryptocurrency transactions.

Over the past 5 years, Okhotnikov’s scheme has spread across four continents and raised about $1 billion from millions of investors. In the US, he was accused of stealing at least $340 million from investors between 2020 and 2022, and in Georgia, he was convicted of laundering $1.1 million in Forsage proceeds.

According to investigators, Okhotnikov is currently in the United Arab Emirates, and 36-year-old Ukrainian marketing specialist Gavrylova-Paterson is promoting his brands abroad.

“Over the past 2 years, over $4 million has passed through our PR agency,” Gavrilova told reporters in correspondence with her legal advisor.

Elledgy Media also co-produced the film “The Goligard Saga: Portal of Power,” starring Kevin Spacey, with Okhotnikov writing and co-producing the script. The film cost about $10 million.

Gavrilova-Paterson also participated in the creation of Sean Penn’s film “Superforce”, which told the story of Volodymyr Zelensky and the work of the President’s Office at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Journalists found out that Gavrilova had connections with the NGO “Union of Entrepreneurs of the Television and Film Industry”, which is headed by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak. Yermak’s business partner, Artem Kolyubaev, attended the presentation of the film’s trailer in Venice and sat next to Gavrilova, but he told reporters that he “has nothing in common with Gavrilova.”

The investigation also states that Gavrilova had connections with the international company Teletrade, which is being investigated for fraud.

Journalists reached out to Gavrilova-Paterson for comment on her role in the international crypto scheme, but received no response. The head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, also did not respond to a request regarding the producer’s participation in the filming of films that involved access to the president’s bunker in the early days of the war.

Recall that the UK has delivered a verdict in what is already being called one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency scams . 45-year-old Zhiming Qian, also known as Yadi Zhang, was convicted of money laundering after a large-scale Bitcoin fraud in China. In total, more than 5 billion pounds worth of cryptocurrency was seized from the woman.
