Promised work in hotels: Kryvyi Rih resident to be tried for human trafficking

In Kryvyi Rih, a 38-year-old woman has been charged with organizing a human trafficking scheme under the guise of employment abroad. According to investigators, two 16-year-old girls were among the victims.

This is reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the investigation, in 2025-2026, the woman, together with a foreign acquaintance, looked for people who were in difficult life circumstances. They were offered high-paying jobs in hotels abroad.

After leaving, the victims were met by an accomplice who took their documents. According to law enforcement, the women were then used for sexual exploitation.

The prosecutor’s office notes that among the victims was a 16-year-old girl who lived with her grandmother. According to the investigation, she was taken abroad under the pretext of employment. The girl was later returned to Ukraine.

Another minor was also offered a similar job, but she told her family about it, after which they contacted law enforcement.

The accused was detained in April 2026. She is currently in custody, and the indictment has already been sent to court.
