Public executions in Gaza: what happened after the ceasefire with Israel

Following the partial withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip, the region has found itself in a state of increasing internal tension. Several areas of the city have witnessed bloody clashes between armed Palestinian groups.
This is reported by CNN.
According to journalists, street fighting is taking place, in particular, between representatives of Hamas and other armed groups. Videos have appeared on social networks in which masked men – some of them with green armbands indicating their affiliation with Hamas – execute at least eight blindfolded people right in the city square in front of a crowd.
The location of the alleged execution is the Al-Sabra neighborhood in western Gaza. Although the time of the incident has not yet been confirmed, analysts say it took place after the announced ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, when Israeli forces had already left the area.
The footage shows the detainees — all adult men — being led out into the square with their hands tied, some forcibly stripped, beaten, and then shot. After the execution, the gunmen celebrate by raising their weapons in the air.
Al-Mezan, a human rights organization based in Gaza, called the incident an “extrajudicial massacre” and called for an independent investigation.
Instead, the Hamas-affiliated Radaa security forces claim to have conducted a “special operation” against the wanted individuals. However, they have not provided any evidence to support their claims. Hamas also reports that “cleansing” and arrests of individuals suspected of attacking civilians are ongoing in the city.
According to CNN, the wave of violence is related to an armed conflict between Hamas and the local influential Doghmush clan, whose center is located in the Al-Sabra district. Sources suggest that the cause of the escalation was the killing of the son of one of the Hamas commanders.
Al-Mezan confirms that armed clashes also took place in Tel al-Hawa, and occurred after the ceasefire came into effect. Official representatives of the Palestinian Authority have not yet commented on these events.
As a reminder, on the morning of October 13, US President Donald Trump arrived on a visit to Israel — he landed at Ben Gurion Airport. There, the American leader made a new statement about the war in Gaza.
Subsequently, Donald Trump signed the final ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian movement Hamas during a summit on Gaza held in Egypt.
As reported, on Monday, October 13,the Palestinian group Hamas released all hostages kidnapped from Israel.
