Putin and Witkoff held three-hour talks in St. Petersburg: what is known

Negotiations between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and US President’s special representative Steve Witkoff have concluded in St. Petersburg. The parties discussed a possible peaceful settlement to the war in Ukraine for about three hours.

This was reported by the Russian agency “Interfax” with reference to the Kremlin.

The meeting took place at the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg. In addition to Putin and Witkoff, the Russian dictator’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev, also took part in the negotiations.

At the beginning of the conversation, Witkoff announced that another representative of Donald Trump, Jared Kushner, was planning to join the discussion by phone. According to Witkoff, he was supposed to offer several ideas for a peaceful settlement.

After the negotiations were completed, Vitkoff and Dmitriev left the Konstantinovsky Palace together.

The meeting in Russia took place the day after Witkoff’s talks in Oslo, where he spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as the leaders of Norway and Finland.

The parties have not yet disclosed the specific results of the three-hour conversation.
