Putin Announces “Adjusted” War Plans and Promises “Fair” State Duma Elections
Russian leader Vladimir Putin has claimed that Russia remains in control of the battlefield situation and will not abandon its strategic objectives in the war against Ukraine, while also framing the upcoming State Duma elections as a “test” of the country’s political system.
This is reported by Russian media.
During a speech at the United Russia party congress, Vladimir Putin said that the situation for Russia remains “under control,” and the West, according to him, is unable to defeat the Russian Federation on the battlefield.
At the same time, the Russian dictator claimed that Ukraine was allegedly “retreating along the entire front line” and that Russia was “trying to eliminate it as a world factor.”
“Russia is being tested to the bone… We are adjusting some of the SVO’s plans, taking into account the current situation, but all strategic goals will be implemented,” Putin said.
During his speech, he paid special attention to the upcoming elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. According to Putin, the vote should take place within the deadlines established by law, and the electoral process will be protected from alleged external interference.
In addition, Putin said that the upcoming election campaign would be “a test of the strength of the political system” and claimed that the competition in the elections would be “open and fair.”
Earlier, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Moscow was ready for peace talks with Ukraine. At the same time, he stressed that they should take place on terms that Russia considers acceptable.
On the eve of the event, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky published an open letter to Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. In it, he called on the Russian leader to end the war and proposed a personal meeting.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during a speech at an economic forum in St. Petersburg, commented on the letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and spoke about possible negotiations, the goals of the war, and attacks by Ukrainian drones on the territory of the Russian Federation.
