Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has said that reaching agreement with Ukraine on key issues is virtually impossible.

He said this while speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum.

According to Putin, Moscow is allegedly ready for contacts with Kiev, but he “does not see the point in this.” He also stated that “until recently Ukraine ruled out the possibility of negotiations, and now it is asking for them.”

Putin also spoke about Ukraine’s European integration aspirations. He said that Russia “never objected to Ukraine joining the EU,” but called “drawing the country into NATO” a direct threat to Russia’s security interests.

The day before, during a long visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in detail about the war in Ukraine, the negotiation process, and future contacts with Zelensky and Trump.

Earlier it was reported that US President Donald Trump is not sure whether a bilateral meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin at the leaders’ level will take place .

Recall that Trump said that in the next two weeks it will become clear whether it is possible to achieve peace in Ukraine . If this does not happen, he warned about the likelihood of finding a different approach to resolving the war.

By the way, Donald Trump wants Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin to first hold a personal meeting . Only after that is he ready to join the trilateral format of negotiations.
