Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has effectively refuted one of the key points of Kremlin propaganda by admitting that during the Anchorage talks, Russia was urged to compromise to end the war against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Russian propaganda agency TASS.

According to Putin, no documents were signed in Anchorage, but the parties discussed possible ways to end the war in Ukraine. He also stated that American negotiators offered Moscow compromise terms, which Russia was urged to accept.

On June 28, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that the “spirit of Anchorage” no longer exists and called on Russia to respond to Ukraine’s proposal to resume negotiations.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the war against Ukraine could allegedly end “by the end of the day” if Kyiv agrees to Moscow’s demands and withdraw its troops from Russian-occupied territories.
