Putin Deliberately Terrorizes Ukraine’s Energy System: European Commission Warns of Nuclear Safety Threat

The European Commission warns that Russia poses a nuclear threat by launching massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

European Commission spokeswoman Anitta Gipper highlighted the danger of Russian strikes during a briefing with journalists in Brussels.
She stressed that Putin is deliberately targeting Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, including substations that supply electricity to nuclear power plants.
“These massive attacks have caused disruptions to electricity, water, and heating supplies and have also endangered nuclear safety,” Gipper noted.
She added that the European Union continues to impose sanctions on Russia and provides support to Ukraine in both the energy and military sectors.
“We are also working with partner countries to mobilize additional assistance and support Ukraine, which remains the largest recipient of our energy-sector aid,” she confirmed.
Let us remind you that Russia continues to purposefully attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, trying to make some of the country’s territories uninhabitable.
By the way, Ukraine has appealed to the International Atomic Energy Agency with a demand to urgently convene the Board of Governors to form mechanisms to protect critical infrastructure and increase international pressure on nuclear and radiation safety.
