Putin is ready to meet with Zelensky not in Moscow, but there is a condition

The Kremlin stated that Vladimir Putin is ready to meet with Vladimir Zelensky outside Moscow only on one condition – if such negotiations lead to a final end to the war.

This was reported by Russian media with reference to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

According to him, Putin is supposedly ready for negotiations in Moscow at any time.

However, if we are talking about a meeting in another country, then, according to Peskov, it only makes sense when the parties can fully finalize the process.

“At any other point, it makes sense to meet only if the process is fully finalized,” Peskov said.

The Kremlin also noted that serious preparatory work is needed before such a meeting.

We are talking about a significant amount of preliminary agreements, without which, according to the Russian side, it is impossible to organize negotiations at the highest level.

Specific dates or locations for the potential meeting in Russia have not yet been announced.

As previously reported, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin stated during a press conference on May 9 that the war against Ukraine was supposedly “coming to an end.” At the same time, the Russian authorities continue to demonstrate their readiness for further hostilities and put forward new ultimatums.

As a reminder, Ukraine announced its readiness to hold a top-level meeting with Russia with the participation of international partners the day before. This is a format of negotiations involving the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and, probably, the United States.
