The European Union’s High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy, Kaia Kallas, said that territorial concessions by Ukraine are “a trap that Putin is trying to draw into.”
She said this in an interview with the BBC.
In particular, Kallas emphasized that Ukraine should not be pressured to cede some of its territories to the Russians as part of a future peace agreement.
The European official also noted that the Russian dictator got everything he wanted during the summit with US President Donald Trump in Alaska.
“He was received like that, and he wanted the sanctions not to be imposed, which he achieved. Putin just laughs, does not stop the killings, but increases their number. We forget that Russia has not made any concessions,” Kallas noted.
Recall that during a conversation with Zelensky and European leaders, Trump stated that the Russian dictator’s plans for Donbas remained unchanged .
It is worth noting that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy once again rejected the idea of transferring the territory of Donbas to the Russians .
