Putin sends fighter jets to NATO countries with impunity: when will there be a reaction?

Russia continues to escalate near NATO borders. Russian drones and aircraft are increasingly appearing on European Union territory. However, NATO is not responding adequately to these threats, which could lead to the creation of a new defense bloc of European countries to protect against Russian aggression.

This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by aviation expert Kostyantyn Kryvolap.

“After Putin went to Beijing, we see a missile strike on the Cabinet of Ministers that did not explode. And I think it was no coincidence that it did not explode. After that, we see the situation in Poland on September 10, when either 19 or 23 flew there. We see the situation with the Romanians, when the trajectory is similar… But what happened now on the border, or rather the border crossing, there the planes were supposedly going from Karelia to their base in the city of Kaliningrad… If we do not respond to this, then the Russians, as they have repeatedly said, will increase this escalation and threat each time,” Kryvolap noted.

At the same time, according to him, NATO is still not adequately responding to Russian threats, hiding behind bureaucratic obstacles.

“NATO leaders say that we will consider this issue next week, maybe we will solve something. There is a Polish oil platform, two Su-30s flew over it – but “nothing”, they didn’t kill anyone, they didn’t threaten, they just flew over… That is, the West cannot wake up by this time. In general, NATO is a defense bloc. Decisions in it are made, like in the European Union, by consensus. But these decisions need to be made quickly,” the aviation expert emphasizes.

Therefore, he adds, it is possible that European countries will soon create their own defense bloc to protect their eastern borders from Russian aggression.

“I think that sooner or later these countries will understand that NATO is a bloc, but another bloc can be created that will be exclusively for protecting the eastern border from Russia: Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria… They can gradually add new members of this military alliance there. We’ll see, but reality forces us to do what is necessary,” Kostyantyn Kryvolap summed up.

As is known, Russia continues to carry out provocations near NATO countries. In particular, the day before, three MiG-31 fighters entered Estonian airspace without permission and stayed there for up to 12 minutes. According to media reports, the Russian planes flew almost to Tallinn before they were intercepted by allied F-35s. NATO called Moscow’s behavior reckless.

The Estonian Ministry of Defense later clarified that the incursion of Russian MiG-31 fighters into Estonian airspace was deliberate . The country activated NATO’s Article 4 and also protested to the Russian diplomat.

Meanwhile, a fragment of a Russian drone “Gerber” washed ashore in Latvia was found on a beach. Part of the drone was discovered the day before. An unexploded ordnance disposal team went to the scene. Experts found out that it is the tail part of a Russian decoy drone ” Gerber “. The fragment is not explosive.

Amid the violation of Estonian airspace, Lithuania was reminded of how Turkey shot down a Russian bomber in 2015.
