Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin said that Kyiv’s ignoring of the “referendums” held in the four occupied regions would lead to armed conflict.

This was reported by Sky News Arabia.

According to Putin, the settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war should be based on ensuring Ukraine’s neutrality and stopping any steps towards joining foreign alliances, including military ones. At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine must maintain its nuclear-free status.

The Russian dictator considers appropriate steps to be the basis for long-term regional stability.

In addition, Putin called on the Ukrainian authorities to recognize the results of the “referendums,” adding that ignoring them “means the likelihood of a renewed armed conflict.”

The Kremlin leader also accused “third parties” of inciting the conflict and assured that they do not seek to achieve peace.

“I hope that the current leaders of Ukraine will be guided by national interests, not the interests of third parties. Ukraine deserves a better fate than to be a tool in the hands of external parties working against Russia,” he said.

Earlier, on May 30, during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council, Russia named the conditions for a ceasefire – a cessation of mobilization in Ukraine and a halt to supplies of Western weapons.

As is known, Russia demands that Ukraine destroy all Western weapons it received during the war.

By the way, Russia continues to reject Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposals for a ceasefire , intensifying air strikes.
