Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has said that the Oreshnik missile system can be equipped with nuclear warheads.
This is reported by Russian media.
According to him, since 2025, “Oreshnik” has allegedly been put on combat duty as a ground-based medium-range missile system.
“From 2025, the Oreshnik ground-based medium-range missile system, which can also be equipped with nuclear warheads, will be put on combat duty,” Putin said.
Also, the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Sergei Karakayev, reported to Putin about the successful launch of the new Sarmat missile complex.
Putin himself stated that work on the Sarmat began back in 2011, and this complex has been talked about publicly since 2018.
The Kremlin dictator called the Sarmat “the most powerful missile system in the world” and stated that it allegedly outperformed Western counterparts by more than four times.
According to him, the complex can move along a suborbital trajectory, which provides a range of over 35 thousand kilometers.
As a reminder, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus , Alexander Lukashenko , reacted to statements from Ukraine that the Oreshnik missile system deployed on the territory of Belarus could be considered a legitimate military target.
