Russia has no intention of giving up its goals regarding the occupied territories of Ukraine and is ready to achieve them by both diplomatic and military means.
This was stated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin during a speech at a meeting of the board of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to him, Moscow allegedly prefers political and diplomatic methods, but in the event of refusal from negotiations by other parties, Russia, as he put it, will achieve its goals by force.
Putin also stated that he believed the Russian army had the ability to increase the pace of offensive operations in certain areas. He explained this by the occupied positions, the created bridgeheads, and the experience that the Russian troops had gained during the fighting.
In addition, the head of the Kremlin announced that the new Oreshnik missile system is planned to be put on combat duty by the end of the year.
As a reminder, the US is planning a new package of restrictive measures against the Russian energy sector in case Putin abandons the peace deal with Ukraine. Thus, US lawmakers have already introduced a bipartisan bill in the Senate that would impose sanctions on the purchase or facilitation of imports of oil and petroleum products from Russia.
As previously reported, the Kremlin stated that Russia allegedly seeks not a temporary truce, but “full-fledged peace”, while rejecting the idea of a Christmas ceasefire.
By the way, US President Donald Trump is convinced that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not seek peace and ultimately intends to seize all of Ukraine.
