Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that foreign military units that may appear on Ukrainian territory would be “legitimate targets” for the Russian army.
He voiced this threat while speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum.
“If any troops appear there, especially now, during military operations, we proceed from the fact that these will be legitimate targets for their destruction,” Putin said.
At the same time, he noted that if “long-term peace” is achieved, the foreign military contingent, in his words, “will lose its meaning.”
Let us recall that the idea of sending European peacekeepers to Ukraine after a possible peace agreement with Russia is facing strong resistance among the public in EU countries.
As reported, during a long visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in detail about the war in Ukraine, the negotiation process, and future contacts with Zelensky and Trump. He commented on the state of hostilities, assessed the work of the Ukrainian leadership and US special envoys, and also revealed Russia’s position on referendums and territorial issues.
