Putin’s yacht leaves Europe under military escort due to drone threat
The superyacht Graceful, linked to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, is leaving European waters for the Russian city of Murmansk amid the threat of Ukrainian drone attacks.
The Telegraph reports this.
According to the publication, citing maritime reconnaissance and satellite imagery, the 82-meter vessel, valued at approximately £100 million, is sailing along the coast of Norway. The yacht is expected to arrive in the port of Murmansk in the coming days, effectively leaving European waters for the Arctic.
As The Telegraph notes, the vessel is equipped with an anti-drone net and is being guarded by two Russian warships. It is accompanied by the large anti-submarine ship Severomorsk and the 7,500-ton rescue and patrol vessel Voevoda.
According to a high-ranking NATO source, the convoy’s movements are being monitored by Alliance forces. During their passage through the Baltic Sea, the Russian vessels were also escorted by patrol vessels from the German and Danish navies.
