“Ready for different scenarios”: Israel attacked the general headquarters of the Syrian army

Israel, defending the Druze minority, launched attacks on Syria, striking the headquarters of the country’s military General Staff in Damascus.

Israel said the strikes on Syria were in defense of the Druze community, a minority that the Jewish state has pledged to protect.

The Israel Defense Forces also said that southern Syria would be hit, stressing that they were “prepared for various scenarios.”

Syrian media reported an explosion in Damascus and drone attacks in Es-Suwayda near Israel. Clashes between Druze and Bedouin have been reported in Syria in recent days. Syria has used troops to quell the violence.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that “the warnings from Damascus are over” and that strikes would now be carried out. He also added that Israeli forces would continue operations in Suwayda to destroy those who attacked the friends.

“Our Druze brothers in Israel, you can count on the Israel Defense Forces to protect your brothers in Syria. Prime Minister Netanyahu and I, as Defense Minister, have made a commitment – and we will stick to it,” Katz wrote.

He also published a video of the strike on the General Headquarters of the Syrian Armed Forces in Damascus.

Syrian media also publish the moment of the strikes on Gentab.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel had agreed to the terms of a ceasefire in Gaza for a period of 60 days .

It is worth noting that Israel is preparing for a possible resumption of military operations if Iran continues to develop its nuclear program .
