Recruitment for air defense groups has started in Ukraine: who can join and how

In June, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine launched a pilot project to create air defense groups (ADF) based on volunteer formations of territorial communities.
This is stated on the website of the defense ministry.
Who can join?
Participation is open to citizens of Ukraine aged 18 and over who are not subject to mobilization. This includes persons with deferments, reserved workers, as well as those who are exempt from conscription due to age or health. The main thing is the desire to defend their city, relatives and neighbors.
What does the state offer?
– medical, professional and psychological examination before signing the contract
– specialized training in certified educational institutions
– performing exclusively tasks related to air defense
– combat duty in the unified air defense system of Ukraine
– cash benefits and social guarantees
In addition, group members will receive additional remuneration of up to 100,000 hryvnias per month, calculated in proportion to the time on duty. The right to social protection, including job security, is also preserved in accordance with Article 119 of the Labor Code.
How to join?
To begin with, you need to become a member of a voluntary territorial community formation (DFTG) – sign a contract for a period of 3 years. The application is submitted to the local DFTG at the place of residence. If there is no such formation, you can initiate its creation through the local military administration in cooperation with the territorial defense units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Required documents:
Application for admission indicating full name, place of residence, education, work, military registration specialty (if any), and motivation.
Copy of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine.
A copy of your military registration document (mandatory for men, if available for women).
Copy of identification code.
Documents confirming deferment from mobilization.
Admission procedure:
Submitting an application to the commander of the volunteer formation.
Medical, professional and psychological examination.
Conclusion of a contract.
Taking the Oath of a Territorial Defense Volunteer.
Obtaining a certificate of membership in a volunteer formation.
As a reminder, in Ukraine, volunteers were allowed to shoot down enemy drones. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the corresponding proposal of the Ministry of Defense.
