Today, July 7, former Russian Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit was found dead in his personal car.
This was reported to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and a number of Russian media outlets.
He was removed from his position as head of the agency on Monday morning due to suspicions of fraud on a particularly large scale. It is also noted that the dismissal occurred during a large-scale aviation collapse.
Later, his body with a gunshot wound was found in the Odintsovo city district – Moscow region.
According to investigators, the circumstances of the death are currently being investigated. However, some Telegram channels claim that the former minister committed suicide.
Starovoit previously served as governor of the Kursk region. In particular, he was a defendant in a case allegedly related to the embezzlement of funds for the construction of fortifications in the border areas with Ukraine.
The investigation is also investigating possible involvement in violations in the procurement of medicines for medical institutions and in the failed transport reform in Kursk.
We will remind, in occupied Luhansk, the Security Service of Ukraine eliminated the former head of the city administration, Manolis Pilavov.
