US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin agreed on “reliable” security guarantees for Ukraine during a summit in Alaska.

This was stated by Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, CNN reports.

“We have agreed on robust security guarantees that I would call game-changing,” he said, describing the guarantees in the format of “NATO’s Article 5.”

According to him, as part of the peace agreement, Putin agreed to enshrine in law that the Russian Federation undertakes not to attack any other territory – neither in Ukraine nor in Europe.

Witkoff also stated that Russia has made certain concessions in its demands regarding the territorial issue.

He declined to share specific details, but explained that the Kremlin currently sees a “territorial exchange” on the current front line, rather than the administrative borders of “at least some of the five regions that have long been in Putin’s sights.”

“The Russians made some concessions at the negotiating table regarding all five of these regions,” the special envoy added.
