Kremlin Revives Soviet Tactics: Ukrainians in Occupied Territories at Risk of Siberian Deportation

The Russian government plans to deport Ukrainians from temporarily occupied territories to a remote region of the Russian Federation.

The Center for National Resistance was reported.

It is reported that the Kremlin has prepared a “Siberia Development Program” worth 700 billion rubles. According to the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, this is an “industrial project.”

However, the Center for National Resistance emphasizes that the true purpose is to deport residents from the occupied territories.

The first stage has already begun in the temporarily occupied territories. Schools, hospitals, and municipal institutions are receiving letters demanding that they assign employees for long-term “business trips” to the Far East.

“The lists are forced to include people ‘unburdened by family circumstances’ — that is, the most vulnerable, those easier to deport without resistance. This repeats Soviet practices of ‘organized recruitment,’ which were once used to deport Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians, Chechens, and other peoples. The scenario is the same: passportization → ‘business trip’ → state resettlement programs → demographic change,” the center emphasized.

As noted, Siberia is a devastated region that Russian residents are unwilling to move to. The Kremlin aims to build a “new empire” using Ukrainians as forced labor.

Recall that Russia has officially begun mobilizing the population in all temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to preliminary estimates, between 50,000 and 100,000 men may be forcibly recruited into the war.
