Representatives of Ukraine, the US and the EU will meet in Paris on Trump’s peace proposals
Representatives of the United States, Ukraine, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom will hold a meeting in Paris on December 13 to discuss US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
This was reported by the Axios publication, citing a White House representative and a Ukrainian official.
The Paris meeting, according to sources, was a follow-up to a December 10 phone call between Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. During the call, Merz said European leaders had told Trump that only Ukraine could decide what to do with its own territory. He said the discussion was constructive and respectful.
Trump, in turn, stated that the parties “discussed Ukraine in rather harsh terms.”
Axios notes that it is currently unknown whether US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be at the meeting. He previously led the US delegation in Geneva in the negotiations with Ukraine, but the process later shifted to special envoy Stephen Witkoff and Trump advisor Jared Kushner.
According to the publication, Zelensky and several European leaders would like to have a joint phone conversation with Trump. However, such a conversation has not yet been scheduled.
As previously reported, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Alliance countries should prepare for a possible large-scale conflict, similar to the wars experienced by previous generations.
Let us remind you that Donald Trump’s new peace plan is almost no different from the scandalous “28 points” and once again demands serious concessions from Ukraine.
