On Friday, September 5, Kyiv saw the start of a protest against a draft law that seeks to increase criminal liability for military personnel.

This was reported by “Ukrainska Pravda”.

Protesters gathered on Independence Square, demanding that Bill No. 13452 not be supported. In addition, protesters are demanding the adoption of a law on a military ombudsman and the introduction of clear service terms, Hromadske reports.
In particular, the protesters chanted slogans such as “Service is not slavery” and “Repression is not discipline.”

At the same time, veteran Alina Sarnatska noted that the rally was peaceful and had been coordinated with the military administration and the Kyiv City State Administration.
She also urged protesters to refrain from using loud noises and fire.

We will remind that, in July, mass protests were held in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro, Odessa, Lutsk, and Ivano-Frankivsk against draft law No. 12414, which, according to activists, threatens the independence of the anti-corruption institutions NABU and SAPO.
