On the evening of December 7, people in the Kyiv region came out and organized a protest against long power outages.

The relevant videos were published by local media outlets.

Residents of the Eurocity residential complex blocked traffic at the traffic light on Balukova Street in Kryukiv Oblast. They are demanding the return of electricity, as the power outages have reportedly been going on for more than a day.

The published footage shows how the demonstration caused a traffic jam – drivers are honking their horns, but people continue to block the road.

At the same time, the Kyiv Electricity Authority noted that specialists are working to resolve the problem – the power will be restored approximately at 9:00 p.m. The administration urged residents to turn on electrical appliances gradually after the power is restored.

“On December 6, due to overloading of the power grid, several accidents occurred simultaneously on 10 kV networks. According to energy experts, the network cables burned out underground due to maximum loads on the network,” KOVA explained.
