In response to threats from Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, US President Donald Trump has strategically deployed two nuclear submarines to key regions, signaling a firm stance amid rising tensions.

He posted about this on the social network Truth Social.

In particular, Trump dismissed Medvedev’s remarks as “nonsense and provocative.”

“I have ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to the relevant regions in case these senseless and provocative statements turn out to be more than just words,” the message read.

He added that words can lead to unforeseen consequences, expressing hope that this will not happen.

At the same time, Trump did not provide further details, leaving the exact locations of the submarines unknown.

What sparked the response?

Earlier, Medvedev, ever the harbinger of subtlety, took to the social network X to warn that Russia’s reaction to US sanctions might be “unpredictable.” Naturally, he emphasized the nuclear deterrent system, as if we needed reminding of Russia’s flair for dramatic threats.

Recall, US President Donald Trump said that Russia has 10 days to reach an agreement on the war in Ukraine. If it refuses, Washington will impose new economic restrictions, including tariffs. At the same time, Trump admitted that the war would last longer than expected.

As reported, the Kremlin said that they are taking into account the statements of US President Trump, but are not afraid of threats, because Russia has “immunity” against sanctions.
