Results of 2025: The Armed Forces of Ukraine held a quarter of the Donetsk region and key industrial hubs

Despite the enemy’s intense offensive actions, the Ukrainian Defense Forces retained control over the main cities of the Donetsk region. For example, Russian troops spent 17 months storming Pokrovsk, but were never able to fully capture the city.

Co-chair of the public initiative “Right Cause” Dmitry Snegirev noted on the air of “Pryamoy” that the aggressor’s plans to capture the industrial heart of the region by the end of the year had collapsed, and the losses of the occupiers near Pokrovsk reached the scale of an entire military district.

“No matter how difficult the year may be, more than 25% of the territory of the Donetsk region is under the stable control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. This is the main result of 2025,” Snegirev emphasized.

The specialist paid special attention to the Pokrovska and Slavyansko-Kramatorska agglomerations, which remain Ukrainian. The enemy spent 17 months storming Pokrovska, but was never able to fully seize the city. About 50% of the territory of Pokrovska, which amounts to 16 square kilometers, is currently under the protection of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which completely refutes the statements of Russian propaganda about successes in this area.

At the same time, according to Snehirev, at the end of 2025, the occupation forces changed their methods of fighting, returning to massive attacks using a large number of armored vehicles, but the enemy’s attempts to create sanitary zones in the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions proved futile.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces have thwarted the plans of the Russian occupiers to create a buffer zone from Milove to Kupyansk and further to Vovchansk. Kupyansk is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces,” the studio guest noted.

The public figure added that a similar situation is observed in the Sumy region, where the enemy was able to advance only 200 meters in a border village. In addition, the Ukrainian presence in the Kursk region, in particular in the Glushkovsky and Tyotkinsky districts, remains a significant lever of influence. This forced the aggressor to transfer reserves from other directions, confirming the lack of combat-ready units.

As a reminder, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold positions in Hulyaipol, despite the fact that the city is completely in the “gray zone.” DeepState analysts emphasize that the further defense of Hulyaipol is becoming increasingly difficult, since enemy forces, as well as Ukrainian ones, are present almost everywhere.

Meanwhile, Russian propaganda channels have spread reports that the Russian Armed Forces are allegedly in full control of the city of Rodynske in the Donetsk region. This information is not true. The Azov Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine notes that such statements are intended to create the illusion of the advance of Russian forces and provoke panic in Ukrainian society.

At the same time, the Kremlin is again trying to wishful thinking and talks about the alleged “successes” of the Russian army at the front. There is no real confirmation of these statements . The military emphasizes that the statements about the control of Russian forces over part of Konstantinovka are not true. Ukrainian fighters confidently hold the defense and destroy the enemy on the approaches to the city.
