The parliamentary coalition has faced serious difficulties in passing government bills. The Verkhovna Rada has effectively stopped supporting the initiatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, as evidenced by the recent failure of the vote on the bank profit tax.
This was reported on the air of “Pryamoy” by political analyst Volodymyr Tsybulko.
“For two years, Zelensky has not included the Servant of the People party in the sociological questionnaire, but instead has the “Zelensky party,” which is a clear signal to everyone that Zelensky is not going to take this composition of the Servant of the People faction into account,” the studio guest emphasized.
According to him, this situation has caused nervousness among the deputies. Tsybulko noted that a significant number of deputies from the pro-government faction are under investigation on corruption suspicions, and some have even gone abroad.
At the same time, the political scientist compared the attitude towards parliamentarians to property, which causes internal protest even among those who considered themselves self-sufficient. Currently, a situation has developed in the Rada when no decision is made exclusively by the votes of the monomajority, despite its formal existence, – added Volodymyr Tsybulko.
As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada did not support draft law No. 14025 on taxation of digital platforms. The media called it “ the OLX tax .” 187 people’s deputies voted to return the document to the government. At least 226 votes are required to pass the decision, so the draft law is considered rejected.
By the way, non-partisan MP Mykola Tyshchenko has joined the “Restoration of Ukraine” group in the Verkhovna Rada. As MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak from Holos explained , due to the conviction of Anatoliy Hunko, the composition of this group was reduced to 16 people, which threatened its disintegration. Thus, Tyshchenko became the 17th member, which will now ensure the further existence of this group, which consists mainly of former members of the now banned OPZH party.
