Ritual addition to Bankova: why did the authorities undertake changes in the government?

The current government is trying to change the composition of the government, focusing on secondary matters instead of solving urgent problems. Especially since personnel rotations will in no way change the quality of the Cabinet’s work, and corruption scandals will be “forgotten” over time.

This opinion was expressed on the air of “Pryamoy” by Ukrainian politician Volodymyr Omelyan.

“The explanation is very simple: Zelensky is desperately trying to change the period of the united nation, focusing on completely secondary players, instead of discussing and finding solutions to critical problems. For us, what surname does the prime minister have in this situation, when the government does not generate anything at all, but is a ritual addition to Bankova, just like the parliament, in particular in the part of the majority, not the opposition. Therefore, I see no point in discussing anything in particular in possible permutations,” Omelyan noted.

According to him, personnel rotations in the government will in no way change the quality of work, and corruption scandals, in particular regarding Unity Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, will be “forgotten” over time.

“Okay, Chernyshov will be removed, and he will go to court until they forget, or until his henchmen take the blame, and he will try to get away with it, as was the case with Trukhin and many other friends of Zelensky. Well, the name of the head of government will change. But, again, if we were talking about personalities who influence something, who give an alternative vision and achieve results, then we could talk about something. We are changing worse for better, or vice versa, better for worse. In this particular case, the fact that Shmyhal is not there, that he is there, changes absolutely nothing,” the politician is convinced.

In addition, in his opinion, the Ministry of National Unity, whose head is at the center of the scandal , may be liquidated due to questionable effectiveness.

“I think that Mr. Oleksiy Chernyshov’s stay behind bars for many years would perhaps have given Ukraine a grandiose philosopher or an outstanding statesman. But since he avoids the crimes that he is said to have committed, we will lose such a philosopher and with him we will lose his ministry, which was created with the sole purpose of employing Mr. Chernyshov, a close friend, as they say, the president’s godfather… No one knows what the Ministry of Unity was doing, except that Mr. Chernyshov was involved in corruption and traveled around the world,” Omelyan summed up.

As a reminder, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office conducted searches at the residence of the current Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov . Subsequently, the NABU and the SAPO informed him of suspicion of abuse of office and obtaining illegal benefits.

As the investigation established, officials of the Ministry of Regional Development under the leadership of Chernyshov created conditions for Kopystyra to obtain a land plot in Kyiv for the construction of a residential complex in 2021-2022. The land was valued almost five times cheaper than the market value, which could have caused losses to the state of more than UAH 1 billion.

On June 27, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for the official. At the same time, in the scandalous corruption case of a billion hryvnias, Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, who is called one of President Zelensky’s closest associates, is being asked fora bail of 120 million hryvnias without restriction of liberty . Meanwhile, former employees of the Probation Service, from whom false testimony against Petro Poroshenko is being demanded, were imprisoned in a pre-trial detention center with a total bail of 1.2 billion hryvnias – although they did not cause any damage to the state.
