Rocket hits Lviv high-rise building: people are still being searched for under the rubble
A search and rescue operation is underway in Lviv after a massive overnight Russian missile attack. Rescuers continue to clear the rubble of a residential building hit by a Russian missile. According to the latest data, at least 31 people have been injured, including three children. At the same time, Russian strikes have claimed lives in Kyiv, Poltava region and the suburbs of Kryvyi Rih, where a missile destroyed the home of a large family.
The consequences of the Russian attack were reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service, regional military administrations, and local authorities.
The most difficult situation is in Lviv . A Russian missile hit a residential high-rise building on Vyhovskoho Street, and houses on Patona Street were also damaged. In total, more than 20 residential buildings, a school, and two kindergartens were destroyed or damaged in the city. Rescuers have already rescued nine people from the rubble, but search operations are ongoing, as more people may remain under the ruins.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported that the warhead of the missile, which did not detonate after impact, has already been neutralized.
“Ahead is work on its safe removal,” Sadovy noted.
In the suburbs of Kryvyi Rih, a Russian ballistic missile hit a private home of a large family in the village of Radushne. Six people were killed, including three children. Eight more people were injured, and rescuers continue to clear the rubble.
A 31-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a nighttime strike in Kyiv . Fires broke out in the capital at the market near the Pochaina metro station, in a garage cooperative, and in non-residential buildings. Five people, including a child, were injured in the Kyiv region after a private house was hit.
Another person died in Poltava region as a result of a drone strike on the warehouse premises of a private enterprise. The Russians also attacked the Nova Poshta terminal. In Zhytomyr region, three children were hospitalized after being injured in the attack.
According to the Air Force, on the night of July 30, Russia launched 358 air attack weapons over Ukraine – 74 missiles of various types and 284 strike drones. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed or suppressed 320 air targets, including 54 cruise missiles and 265 drones.
“We express our condolences to all the victims, families who lost their relatives and loved ones in this terrible terrorist attack,” the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.
